Leadership principles from one of the most important historical leaders of the American West. I love that the author states how hard it is to write a biography on someone who’s been dead for a very long time. I love how she does amazing work in bringing to life the timeline of events that happens with Chief Joseph. This is a great educational book about Native Culture & beliefs and how “white” man came and some were willing to help while others just wanted the Indians gone. The doesn’t dance around harsh truths like the injustice nature of forcing out Indians nor the illegal acquiring of Indian owned livestock, and land. I recommend this book to those looking to understand more of what happened during this time period where so much history has been erased.”
